NYS President

"AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research." With these bold words, the Association has created its new mission statement.

Let these words guide your branch as you move ahead in the 21st Century.

Below is the beginning of a list of resources for branch leaders. Come back and visit often to see what's been added.

  • We have published here a "Tried and True, Virtually Painless Strategic Planning Process". Included are some suggestions for effective facilitating.
  • The Association is launching an AAUW Member Services Database. See the attached memo for details.
  • NYS is putting together a two-year action plan. Please review and share your comments...
  • The NYS board has also developed a state project - a plan which will enable each branch to act on the mission of the organization in its own way.
  • The Association has published a "theme highlights" page which summarizes all the ways that AAUW programming IS the mission of the organization. Lots of action ideas.
  • Here's a list of frequently asked questions from branch presidents - and answers!
  • Job descriptions. Sometimes questions arise as to what is expected of an officer or appointee.  Copies of the state job desciptions are helpful and will be found by clicking into the nominating section.
