NYS Legal Advocacy Fund Vice President

The Association Board of Directors has decided to put this award on hiatus indefinitely as we explore other ways to support campus programming and recognize individuals who have advocated for change on behalf of women and girls.

Previous Information:

Does your local college or university have a program promoting sex equity on campus? If so, nominate it for the AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund Progress in Equity (PIE) Award. Publicize the possibilities with a poster provided by the national LAF!

The AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund's Progress in Equity Award honors a college or university program that has resulted in significant progress in equity for women.

PIE Award recipients receive public acknowledgement and a monetary stipend of up to $10,000. The PIE Award recognizes efforts in women's athletics programs, tenure and promotion for women faculty, child care, family leave, programs and policies to combat sexual harassment, strategies to mentor women students or junior faculty, recruitment of women into nontraditional fields, integration of women's history or other women's issues into the curriculum, and special initiatives for women.

Entries must be received by March 14th. Nomination forms are available on the Associate website. If you have a college in your area which is supportive of women, please let them know about this award.

This is another example of important programs your LAF contributions support!
