NYS Legal Advocacy Fund Vice President
One of the ways in which the State and local Branches support the Legal Advocacy Fund is through the LAF Basket Silent Auction at Convention. Branches donate baskets of assorted goodies; from books to wine and cheese to a week in the Caribbean!
Members have a good time checking out what's what at convention and a bit of competition is sure to break out over the most coveted baskets.
Below are the rules for baskets for the 2008 AAUW-NYS convention:
LAF BASKET GUIDELINES – Deadline April 21, 2008
-
Each Branch is allowed to bring from 1 to 3 baskets.
-
Monday April 21, 2008 is the deadline to notify me of the number of baskets to be contributed by the Branch.
NO BASKETS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DEADLINE!
-
Each Basket is to be wrapped in clear plastic. (Only clear wrap will be allowed)
-
A 4 x 6 card should be attached, listing the Title, contents, and name of the contributing branch.
DO NOT STATE AN APPROXIMATE VALUE.
-
All baskets must be in the display area by 5 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008. No baskets will be accepted on Saturday.
-
The bidding will be available at posted times from 5 p.m. Friday until 10 p.m. Saturday. The winners will be announced at 8:15 a.m. at Sunday Breakfast.
PLEASE BRING A CHECK, PAYABLE TO LAF, IF YOU PLAN TO BID OR DONATE AT THE BREAKFAST. A CHECK INSURES PERSONAL CREDIT AS WELL AS BRANCH CREDIT.
NOTE: THE MONEY PAID FOR A BASKET BY THE BIDDER WILL BE CREDITED TO THE CONTRIBUTING BRANCH. THE WINNING BIDDER WILL GET PERSONAL CREDIT FOR THE AMOUNT PAID. GIFTS TO THE AAUW LEGAL ADVOCACY FUND ARE TAX-DEDUCTIBLE TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW.
