Welcome to an exciting year as the AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund liaison! You have accepted an opportunity to help create a more equitable climate for women on campuses across the country. Here are some suggestions to get you started.

Fund Raising Ideas

Try one of these successful fundraising ideas in your branch:

• raffling a LAF basket at each general meeting
• contacting individuals to ask them to become members of the LAF Circle, Amicus, Partner or Advocate. Donors of $100 or more before December 31 will receive the new LAF Pin and becoming a member of LAF Amicus (which will be listed in the Convention LAF Luncheon Program and in the Association publications.)

Spread the Word

Have a LAF article in your newsletter every month this year. It helps to raise the awareness of our members of the importance of LAF—the strongest opportunity AAUW has to create societal change.

The Legal Advocacy Fund Tool Kit was designed to provide the resources you need to succeed. (You will have to log in as a member first).

Explore your personal commitment in the context of your everyday life, balancing family, work, community, and other obligations. The demands on your time are great, but something about your work with AAUW feeds your personal commitment and empowers you. As an LAF liaison, consider how your work to speak out for justice also benefits you personally.
