Try one of these wonderful fundraising
programs to help raise money for the Educational Foundation—and
share YOUR great ideas with
us! When planning your fundraising efforts, challenge your Branch
to meet the Foundation's goal of $25 per member per year.
Equity Futures
is a special way to support the Eleanor Roosevelt Fund for Women
and Girls, a NYS vehicle for donating to the Foundation. An individual
may want to honor or memorialize someone, and can do so with a $25
gift. A lovely card is sent to the family or honoree, naming the
donor and explaining where the money will be used. Forms for ERF
gifts are available and will be included in mailings to EF chairs.($500
is needed to name an honoree)
Can you think of a better way to have a birthday
celebration for Eleanor Roosevelt in October than to sponsor
an Eleanor Roosevelt Walk: Making Strides for Women and Girls?
Open up the Walk/ Run to your community. Participants don't have
to be AAUW members. Your Branch or several area Branches could sponsor
a walk/run to benefit the ER Fund. The more people involved the
better. Spread the word about what the Eleanor Roosevelt Fund is
doing. Have everyone get as many sponsors as they can and don't
forget corporate donors, it never hurts to ask. The Foundation has
put together a walk/run kit to help with this. To find out more,
contact the Foundation at (202) 728-7602 or foundation@aauw.org.
The Eleanor Roosevelt Fund
pin campaign is another way members can help support this
Foundation Fund. For a $100 donation to the ER Fund the donor receives
the current pin and becomes a member of the Eleanor Roosevelt Honor
Roll. They can honor or memorialize someone (a card is sent to the
designated person) and the money goes to the ER Fund. This is an
excellent way to honor or remember someone and also a way to support
this important Fund. The purchase of four Equity Futures makes one
a member of the ER Honor Roll. This has been a successful fund raiser
in several NY State Branches.
Have a Branch anniversary coming up in
the next decade? Several Branches have found that starting a new
fellowship, grant or named unit creates an excellent goal
and has been a great fund raising tool. NYS
Educational Foundation Vice President has information on this
or you can contact the Foundation. |
