Friday afternoon will include a tour of Susan B. Anthony's Home

TOUR OF SUSAN B. ANTHONY’S HOME, ROCHESTER
Friday, April 20, 2012 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

Leave from the lobby of the hotel at 2 pm.

This modest brick Victorian house in the city of Rochester was the home of Susan B. Anthony from 1866 until her death in 1906 and served as the headquarters of the campaign for women’s rights for many of those years. Here she met and planned with other famous reformers, including Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Ida B. Wells-Barnett. Here, in the front parlor, she was arrested for voting in the presidential election of 1872. Here, in the third-floor attic workroom, she helped write the monumental History of Woman Suffrage. The house first belonged to Susan’s mother, Lucy Read Anthony, and then to her sister, Mary Stafford Anthony, who taught school in the neighborhood and maintained the home while Susan traveled all across the country and to Europe working for women’s rights. Today, the house is filled with photographs, memorabilia, and many of the original Anthony-family furnishings. Come and experience life in the Anthony home circa 1900 and be inspired with the remarkable story of Susan B. Anthony’s unrelenting courage and determination to achieve equality for women. Visit the website for more information: www.susanbanthonyhouse.org.

Friday night we'll be socializing - have fun and get to know some of the women from other branches. After the resolutions caucus there will be "Military Bridge".
