Open House on Sept. 22, 2011, at 7:30, with the Smithtown Historical Society as co-sponsor, at the Frank Brush Barn, Route 25. Our speaker is Betty Gross from Child Protective Services on "Bully prevention and Internet safety," because Cyber-bullying affects one third of 13 to17 year olds.
Other Meetings:
The Smithtown Area Branch promotes equity for women and girls, and Education as the Gateway to Women's Economic Security. We raise money for the Legal Advocacy Fund (a wonderful Book/Author Luncheon) and have a great Donor's Club for the Eleanor Roosevelt Fund of the Educational Foundation. We support community groups (Suffolk County Coalition Against Domestic Violence), participate in NYS AAUW Convention, atttend District 6 events, and enjoy friendship with women who share concerns for our AAUW mission.
