The American Association of University Women promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education and positive societal change. We provide funds to advance education, research. and self-development for women and to foster equity and positive societal change. Through the Legal Advocacy Fund we provide funding and a support system for women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination.

Massapequa Area Branch has 59 members at present, with annual dues of $75. The Branch has been awarded Certificates of Appreciation from the Legal Advocacy Fund , an Outstanding Service Award from the Department of Veterans Affairs, an Appreciation Certificate to the Chordalairs (our singing group) from the Nassau Branch, and thanks from the community groups we assist.

Branch community service projects include giving holiday books for children and awarding engraved Dictionary Commendation Awards to five area High School Graduating Seniors. Our Chordalairs singing group has performed at the Daleview Manor Nursing Home.
