CATCH THE EXPRESS

Updated: February 1, 2011

Welcome!

AAUW Manhattan begins its fourth year with an enthusiastic membership that has a Film and Literature interest group that is attended by two thirds of our membership. The Literature planning meeting was a success with more than fifteen books presented for choice. Four were voted on and will be the selections for the 2010-11 AAUW year. The other books were so interesting that we published the list in our September newsletter for everyone's reading enjoyment. (Copy upon request.)

Our Open House is scheduled for October (details upon request) and we have a nutritionist as our guest speaker. She will do a workshop with our group.

The Clothesline ProjectŠ is again scheduled for April 2011 (details upon request) and our members have collected T Shirts, Clothespins and Markers along with donations to contribute to this event.

Mount Saint Vincent College in Riverdale will again host the EYO (Expanding Your Opportunities) conference for seventh grade girls. This year Manhattan Branch has taken on the task of recruiting schools in New York City for this event. EYO hosts seventh grade girls for the day, exposing them to career opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
